professeur madame bagnall
My name is Davena Bagnall, but at school I am known as Madame Bagnall or Madame for short :-)
Teaching Experience:
I have taught at Arcata High School for seventeen years now and time has flown! I love teaching and learning new ways of teaching the language of love. My goal is for each of my students to leave my classroom with a foundation of the French language which they can use when they travel to francophone countries. I value all of my students and have been learning about more about my implicit bias and beginning my work towards anti-racism. I invite you to call me in and help me do better when I mess up.
My French Experience:
I attended McKinleyville High School where I started with my French education then moved on to Humboldt State University. My junior year I participated in a year long exchange program to the south of France, Aix-en-Provence. I loved it so much I ended up staying two years. I learned so much and made great progress with my French. While in France I came to appreciate the people and the food. I still miss the breads and yogurt. Delicious!!! I finished my French degree when I returned to California. A year later I started subbing for French Teachers and in 2006 I got my teaching credential.
AHS involvement :
I am the French Club Advisor, French Honor Society Advisor, Interact Club Advisor and Class of 2024 Advisor.
Life is great and I am looking forward to another awesome school year.
Madame Bagnall :-)
